Meliodas, the Sin of Wrath, is a central character in the anime series *The Seven Deadly Sins*. He makes his first appearance in the very first episode of the series, titled "The Seven Deadly Sins."

He is the captain of the titular Seven Deadly Sins, a group of knights who were framed for treason and disbanded. He's known for his youthful appearance, despite actually being hundreds of years old. Meliodas is exceptionally powerful, possessing immense magical abilities and swordsmanship skills.

While initially appearing cheerful and somewhat carefree, Meliodas carries a significant burden from his past. As the story progresses, his true nature and the reason for his immense power are gradually revealed. His past is intertwined with a tragic love and a curse that has plagued him for centuries, driving much of the plot of the series.
